Frequently Asked Questions on Our Baby Sleep Programs
As a Baby Sleep Consultant, I offer families personalized and holistic baby sleep programs that facilitate a more desirable set of sleeping habits for any baby or child aged 0-5
I am professionally trained with over 11 years of experience in the field. I have trialed and studied all the major sleep training methods to formulate a systematic sleep and support program that has an extremely high success rate.
Not every family has the same idea around how they choose to parent and no two babies are the same, therefore each sleep program is personalized based on your baby’s history, health, personality, temperament, habits, stage of development, as well as the parenting philosophy you wish to maintain.
After analyzing your individual situation, I come back to you with a personalized plan to improve your baby’s overall sleep. I prefer to use gentle/reassuring settling techniques and offer a holistic approach when analyzing each case.
Once a method has been chosen, I then provide you with bespoke instructions and carefully guide you through the changes needed to teach your baby how to sleep through the night. The support element of my programs is crucial to success, and I can guide you step-by-step, day-by-day, and nap-by-nap.
I will be right there with you over the support period (which is three weeks) until your baby is sleeping through the night and/or taking longer naps throughout the day.
Nearly all healthy babies are physiologically capable of sleeping through the night (i.e. 10-12 hours) without assistance by the age of 6 months. If best practices are implemented early on, some babies can sleep successfully a little earlier in months 4 or 5.
Each family’s situation is unique so the baby’s sleep learning process can vary. However, I can confidently say that there are quick wins early on when my recommendations are implemented correctly. Most families see improvements within the first two weeks. The two main factors to your baby’s sleeping success:
Ensure you are consistent with implementing my recommendations
Keep in touch with me regularly during the process
I strongly believe that you should not leave your baby to cry for prolonged periods on their own, as you need to be there at regular moments to comfort and encourage them during the implementation of their new sleeping routine.
However, when you have a willful baby who has developed a negative sleep habit over a long period of time (sometimes their whole life), they will generally cry and protest when making changes to improve their sleeping habits. I will never ask you to leave your baby to cry for extended periods of time, if that is not something you are not comfortable with. Before embarking on any baby sleep program, it is important to understand the process for each method and this is where I will help you devise a plan that suits your family as a whole.
Together we develop a sleep plan that you feel comfortable adopting and I will educate, support and guide you throughout the process.
The support element of any offered program is crucial to the sleeping success. I will be checking in on you and your baby’s progress through a logging system. Having close contact and support during this time is essential to get you through all the stages necessary to teach your baby how to sleep better. I will go above and beyond offering support to clients to ensure sleeping success, as I know that your success is also mine!
I am committed to improving your baby’s sleeping routine, however, success can only be achieved if you are equally committed as well. Your baby will be learning new ways of going to sleep and learning new habits takes time, patience, commitment and perseverance.
In order to achieve the best results possible, it is highly recommended that you avoid planning any holidays or nights away from home for two to three weeks during the implementation of the new sleep plan to maintain consistency in your baby’s environment.
I guarantee to provide a professional and tailored service to every client. Achieving success is heavily dependent on the parents’ commitment to implementing the new routine as well as clear alignment on the goals we agreed upon. If you follow my recommendations and remain consistent throughout the sleep training period, I guarantee an improvement in your baby’s sleep.
